Presbyterian Welcome Hires Organizer of Mission & Advocacy

When John Russell Stanger came to us this summer as a theological intern, we were secretly wishing that we might be able to keep him on a more permanent basis.  A recent graduate of Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, John is pursuing ordained ministry. He has been in our LGBT Inquirers and Candidates program. He has a passion and love for youth ministry. He comes to us with many gifts and skills for ministry, organizing and social change. We got our wish! This past week, due to a seed gift from a very kind and generous anonymous donor, the Board of Directors hired John as our first Organizer of Mission & Advocacy. His main duty will be in the creation of a youth ministry program for LGBT and allied young people. This fall he will continue to network and the organize the program, which will launch in January. We can't be more proud or excited to have John on board. To reach him directly you can email him here.

We also recognize that we are taking a risk in so boldly expanding our staff. We deeply believe in the transformative ministry that John can accomplish and know that you to do. If you feel so moved to contribute financially to maintain this work, please donate here and come to our 2012 Faithful Servant Awards.

You can read more about John on our Staff page.
