Renata is a Vice President, Corporate Counsel in Prudential’s Law Compliance and Business Ethics (LCBE) Department.  Renata counsels her corporate HR clients with respect to compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code and other laws affecting employee benefit plans as well as plan design, administration, qualification and fiduciary requirements concerning pension, profit sharing, employee stock ownership and other types of plans.  In addition, Renata provides advice to her clients on executive compensation arrangements, including employment and severance agreements, and she supports the M&A team on corporate transactions.  

Renata has lectured on employee benefit matters at seminars hosted by the Practising Law Institute, the New York City Bar Association and the New Jersey Chapter - Association of Corporate Counsel.  Renata is also a frequent lecturer on ERISA and employee benefit issues at American Conference Institute’s continuing legal education seminars.  She has also guest lectured at New York Law School’s Tax Masters Employee Benefits Course.

Renata graduated from St. John’s University School of Law.  She received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College, Columbia University.  Prior to joining Prudential’s Law Department in 2008, Renata had been a senior attorney in Proskauer Rose LLP’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice Group.   Renata is admitted to the Bar in New York and New Jersey.  

Renata has been Co-Chair of the Prudential LCBE Diversity and Inclusion Council’s Education and Awareness Subcommittee since January 2014.  Under Renata's leadership, the Subcommittee has hosted continuing education programs for Prudential employees nationwide focusing on recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions and other topics including civil rights history, health care reform, LGBT issues and social justice.  In 2015, Renata Co-Chaired the LCBE Diversity and Inclusion Council’s Town Hall Program exploring religious and faith-based diversity in the workplace.   In 2015, Renata was awarded Prudential’s Diversity and Inclusion Corporate Leadership Award in recognition of her work in this area.  In addition to Diversity and Inclusion Council activities, Renata has participated in Pro Bono, NJ LEEP and other programs to support the Newark, New Jersey community.

Renata lives in New York City with her husband, Don Broderick and daughter, Sabrina Broderick.
