Roberto Ochoa
Roberto Ochoa (el, he, him, his) is originally from East Los Angeles, CA and currently is the Program Associate for Congregations of Color and ethnic identified congregations for Faith Education, Innovation and Formation (Faith INFO) in the National Setting of the United Church of Christ.
Prior to his call to the UCC National Setting, Roberto pastored Lake View Congregational Church (Open and Affirming) for seven years in Worcester, MA.
Roberto served as part of the Colectivo de United Church of Christ Latinx Ministries (formerly Hispanic Ministry Council), the Council on Racial and Ethnic Ministries (COREM), on the Leadership Team for Proyecto Encuentros de Gracia y Bienvenida, and UCC Collaboration for Immigration and Refugees. Roberto also serves on the leadership team for Red Ecumenica para el Desorrollo de Iglesias Latinas (REDIL).
Roberto earned his Master of Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School (2017) with Certificates in Ethics and Social Justice; and for Spiritual and Pastoral Care. He was also a recipient of Andover Newton’s Orlando Costas and the United Church of Christ’s Hector Lopez Scholarships. Roberto did undergraduate work in Macalester College, St. Paul, MN and Becker College, Worcester, MA.
Roberto has been married to his husband James Carnevale for six years and they have been together 22 years.
